Summer Camp
MASTA Camp is a great opportunity for young students to participate in a musical activity over the summer. The camp is three days and two nights at the Howell Nature Center. This is a great way to build momentum for continuing to play and practice over the summer and also to reignite excitement for playing their instrument. This camp is great for ALL students who have participated in orchestra this year. There are already a lot of students from Farmington attending camp, and I will be there working as the camp Director. I have attached a copy of the camp application. You can find more information about MASTA Camp, as well as download the application, at www.mastastringcamps.com

Private Lessons
Investing in some private lessons over the summer is a great way to continue your child’s progress on their instrument. Spending the whole summer without practicing will mean a slow start to the school year as we spend time reviewing and rebuilding the muscles in our hands. A few lessons, combined with an orchestra camp, is a great way to maintain the skills learned and keep the dust off of the instrument that you are renting during the summer. I have attached a list of great private teachers in the area. I also highly recommend the teachers at Detroit Violin Company in Berkley. Detroit Violin Company even has a great introductory program where you get the first 4 lessons for $45. For more information visit http://www.thedetroitviolincompany.com/lessons.html. If you have any questions about lessons please let me know.
